Ahhhh, OK, I haven't been able to write freely and expressly ever since I made this blog, and here is the reason: I am influenced by my audience. It's true and I admit it. A lot people, especially today, say that you shouldn't care what other people think, you shouldn't let them influence what your actions or beliefs, but I can't help at least thinking about it if not letting this influence me. I'm not swayed, this would be negative, meaning that my actual beliefs aren't usually affected. But, oh, how I am influenced. Before I had this blog, I thought about all the awesome things that I had to write down, that would make funny stories to read later or for my friends to read. However, I think and think and mash around in my brain what the effects of some things that I want to say will have on the people reading this. This is not a new development, I guess that I've always been this way. Thinking about peoples reactions, my own reactions, processing, processing, to the point of exhaustion. Mostly at night, I used to be awake for hours after I went to bed, not be able to sleep, just being wide awake. Now, I know better and I have to tell myself to stop thinking or I would never get any sleep. However, the point of all this venting is to apologize for the weak and puny blog that I have presented thus far and provide encouragement--I am going to try to do better! Of course, I don't really care what you are thinking ALL the time, so beware.
To tie in to this rather serious post, I will provide you with a little humor. Go to this link and take this quiz to find out what kind of personality disorders you're likely to have: http://www.4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv
I was: -Moderately Paranoid, bizarre, why would they say that?
-Moderately Narcissistic, I have plenty of empathy
-Moderately Histrionic, I BEG TO DIFFER
-High Obsessive Compulsive, wha--wait, yah ok
(This only means that you are likely to have them, it doesn't diagnose)
So, what kind of wackoes are you? My roommate is avoidant, hmmmm. Haha, I love her!

Coziness
Previously, Amara, my roommate, and I haven't had any heat. I've been waking up in the morning with my heart feeling jittering because of the intense. I would immediatly throw on a sweatshirt and my slippers and grab the puffy comforter of my bed and wrap myself in it and lay huddled on our love seat reading my Bible. But today was the day for action, I called Maintenance and, with great efficiency, that sent someone over and he bravely tacled the problem, our radiator is behind Amara's bed and was surrounded by stuff. But in ten minutes we could feel the radiator begin to grow warm. So, now, when I enter my room, I am greeted by the scent and cozy feel of heated water, it feels comfortable and snuggly. The Christmas lights in my window add snugness to the room too, and I am sure that later tonight my friends will come over for a chat and then the hominess will be complete. This was all just in time too, there are light flurries falling outside.

Varsity
The Sophomores have finally received their varsity jackets after weeks of waiting (and the end of the season). We were so excited and we strutted around campus at 7:30pm looking for anyone to impress. We felt like a gang, our emblems being black and maroon, Gortex jackets that say, "Washington College Crew" on the back in an embroidered font. Now I can quit happy (just kidding).
The West Wing
I just recently became the newest intern at Congressman Gilchrest's office, weird. It was a spur of the moment thing and it happened so fast but it is fantastic. Maybe it's because I am a romantic, or nostalgic, but I love being an intern. I feel like I am one step away from being on The West Wing (my favorite show last semester: I watched all of my roommate's episodes). I have two different workstations and my own phone, so cool. Watch out President Bush!

Expression
It has been so long since I have written anything creative, in English at least. I'd be able to express myself better in French if I didn't have to write in French. However, I will try to write what I am thinking without being to wordy.
I've just come back from a presentation by a photographer from The Washington Post. She presented photographs from Afghanastan and Iraq that she had taken while there before and during the wars there. Story telling was her love, she said, and it was starkly evident that it was also her gift. With clarity, flow and feeling she beat out the extroidinary stories behind the vivant photographs that showed on the projector. I am amazed everytime that I go to one of these presentations and the individual is able to express their thoughts and ideas with a surgens precision, using only words. She was a photographer whose job was to take pictures, but it was evident that she used this second skill to highlight her natural ability, her art, story telling. Although, the pictures were amazing as well. This is what I want: to be able to take pictures like that. Motion, feelings, culture, it was all there. In one picture, she had captured this frame of an Afganie man who had lived in an underground bunker for years. She wanted to capture what he was thinking and in this picture the green light from the lamps are reflecting off his face as he is looking away at something and there is a deepness in his face and eyes that says, "I have suffered." It was amazing, I was amazed.

Friends Forever
I want to be around Christians. There is no other way to say it, I miss them. I went to church this weekend with the Christian group here on campus and I had so much fun. It was the kind of relaxed, sweet fun that I have been missing and not even realizing it. Well, not be aware of it constantly. Occasionally, it would hit me how isolated I am and how tired I am of being an oddity to my friends. In particular, I met a boy named Will who is a freshman and he reminded me of Greg, he was funny and easy to talk to. We had such a carefree time joking and being silly and I loved it. I just want to go home and be loved. Friends forever, I miss them, the ones that I know will be my friends forever because we have that common ground that makes every Christian in the world brothers and sisters--linked.
Genetics
I have discovered that one of my failings is my inability to save seats in the movie theater. I cannot do it, is it genetic?
